$ 1,042,922.00 in Grant funding was awarded during the Dec 10, 2019 meeting of Commission on Off-Highway Vehicles. Congratulations to the grant recipients, and we look forward to working with you to create tomorrow's offroad adventures!
The Kokopelli OHV Club, led by Stan Hargar, is working to help adventure seekers get from Mesquite to Caliente, all on Nevada OHV trails. The Kokopelli OHV Club received a grant from the Nevada OHV Program to install directional signs at intersections along the trail, informing users of route directions, sensitive areas, and points of interest. Signs are installed on Carsonite posts, and include GPS Coordinates, the town ahead, and a reminder that you are recreating on public land.
The Kokopelli Club has built an exemplary partnership between their members, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Nevada Conservation Corps. While grant funds are managed by the club, members regularly meet with land managers and employ the services of Nevada Conservation Corps to get the signs installed. Initial trail reports state that while installing the signs in dry Nevada dirt is troublesome, users confirm that the final product is well worth the effort!
Stan Hargar was the 2018 OHV Partner of the Year for his efforts on this signing project. Catch the Kokopelli Club and learn about other grant funded projects at the 2019 OHV Summit, 10.31.19—11.2.19 in Caliente, Nevada!

The Nevada Mapping Collaborative moved south for the winter and focused on mapping riding areas in Clark County and Gold Butte National Monument. Check out the georeferenced trail maps at: https://ohv.nv.gov/trails
The Nevada Mapping Collaborative is a partnership between the Nevada OHV Program, the Recreational Trails Program, and the Great Basin Institute, and strive to provide high quality trail maps and recreation information for OHV users. Trail data is provided three formats: GeoPDF, .GPX and .KML for use on a variety of navigation devices.
The team communicates with OHV clubs, rural communities, and land managers to find the hidden gems around the State. Without revealing all of Nevada’s secrets, the team then makes suggestions for your next Off-Road Adventure. Check out the trail maps and more information on “The Dirt” pages at:
